About PAS-IC Goes To School
PAS-IC partnered with legendary drummer Gilang Ramadhan to bring percussion education directly to junior high school students in Jakarta. This outreach program introduced young learners to the rich world of Indonesian percussion.
Workshop Focus
This workshop emphasized two interconnected themes:
1. Indonesian Traditional Percussion
Students explored the diversity of Nusantara percussion instruments, learning about:
- Traditional rhythms and patterns
- Cultural significance of percussion
- Hands-on playing experience
2. Environmental Awareness
The workshop addressed an important message about deforestation and its impact on:
- The environment and ecosystems
- The availability of materials (bamboo, wood) used to make traditional percussion instruments
- Our responsibility to preserve both nature and cultural heritage

The Experience
